Countdown to Ice Ball 2010

the Ice Ball 2010 - Buffalo's New Years Eve Celebration

Ultimate Proposal Contest!

History

Established in 2008 by local tech entrepreneur Steve Poland who had one too many uneventful New Year’s Eves in previous years and thus took it upon himself to throw a pro-Buffalo event on the biggest night of the year.

Last year’s Ice Ball proved to be a large success in terms of ticket sales, turnout, and general attendee satisfaction. The event was held at the Delaware Park Casino, which has a maximum capacity of 500 people, and was sold-out three weeks prior to New Year’s Eve. In fact, the event demand was so high that tickets were re-sold for above face value on Internet sites such as craigslist.org.

The core purpose of the Ice Ball is to offer a one-of-a-kind, classy New Year’s Eve alternative to the bar scene. Guests will ring in the New Year in style with a variety of live music, exquisite food selection, and unique entertainment in the Queen City. The event is also designed to showcase the city’s beautiful, historic architecture and vibrant nightlife.

Attendee Comments from last year (New Years 2009)

"I’ve lived in Buffalo for about 5 years now and this was the best party I’ve seen! I’ve also done New Year’s with friends in about 5 other US cities and this was the best of any of them! I think the details you arranged were perfect, and I really noticed them... it was a great young professional crowd!" - Jean

"The ambience, the band, the pics, the photo booth… everything was impressive. As young professionals (teachers and such) I can say that we had the most fun ever that evening! Yeah, we were the group dancing our heads off in the front row! Unforgettable, and THANK YOU!" - Lisa

"Please don’t give up on events like this and don’t give up on Buffalo." - C

"It was well planned, and much more elegant than we expected." - Jacque

"I thought the party was great…this type of event was long over due in Buffalo." - Jason

"We need enthusiastic people like you in Buffalo!" - Jane

"We couldn’t help but dance, dance, dance to the band’s excellent choices of party songs. The photo booth and prom-like pix were a riot, as was the balloon guy! We all have nothing but big kudos for this event!" - Rick

"The decorations were tasteful and not “in your face” overboard like some events I’ve attended." - Joe

"We hope that we will be able to make this our New Year’s tradition!" - Andrea
